Kolbie & Wyatt

This was the most elegant, well thought out, subtle Lord of the Rings wedding I have been to — and I have been to a few. Even the perfume and cologne bottles gave out LOTR vibes. Their rings–INCREDIBLE!! Her ring was a moss diamond, his was the One Ring. I’ll show you a closer look at them down the page.
In the middle is the bow their beautiful baby girl wore in her hair, and memory to cherish.

Following in the trend of her moss diamond ring, Kolbie’s dad gave her this beautiful moss diamond necklace! And it wouldn’t be a LOTR wedding without the Leaf of Lorien pendant! Cloaks do come out for a split second after the ceremony, and the groomsmen were all laughing while we took photos in the vines. It was a great time for sure!

Kolbie surprised Wyatt before she even walked down the aisle. She switched the song she was walking down the aisle to, to a song that meant a lot to him. To combine that with her beauty as she entered the scene, and the emotions of the day…I simply have to show you a series of his reaction!

Therefore, his face went from pure shock to pure joy, to full emotions. Kolbie had mentioned to me that she was planning on surprising him with the “Concerning Hobbits” track. I even started to tear up seeing his reaction to it.
The ceremony concluded. Meanwhile the wind started to pick up, and the clouds started to look like they may open. We were trying to stay in the timeframe they had set, so we started on the family and group photos. Lucky for us, it sprinkled lightly and the wind slowed down.
I told you the cloaks came out! I’m so glad they pulled them out to make a fun memory.
After the group photo, we went into the formals. I brought them into the full blackberry vines because the lighting was perfect and you could still see some of the mountains behind them.
Also, can I just pause for a minute and tell you how much I loved Kolbie’s dress! The lace was stunning, and the open back, flowy sleeves, small train, she looked incredible! We did take a few minutes at sunset to get a few more formals for them, you’ll see them mixed in below.
We had very limited time for the formals before dinner, and before the rain. Mt Naomi is pretty any time of year, but September has to be my favorite!! The green vines are incredible and the colors that Kolbie and Wyatt chose complimented the scenery beautifully!
Dinner and Details
After the formals, they went inside for dinner and some toasts. Not many people like me taking pictures of them eating (surprise, surprise), so I usually walk the venue trying to get detail shots. I loved their sign in book, it was very unique and very fitting being a wine bottle at a vineyard wedding!
The After Party
When dinner and toasts were concluding, the Social Axe Throwing trailer showed up. Kolbie and Wyatt met while working at Social Axe, and was definitely a big part of their story! They shared that story with all their guests, and was a refreshing, fun way to celebrate a wedding! I highly recommend!
They had completed the axe throwing for a few and moved back indoors for the dances and cake cutting. The first dance started with Kolbie and Wyatt and ended with Wyatt and their sweet daughter. Meanwhile I watched Kolbie tear up while watching this special dance and consequently felt all the love of a mother watching her whole world with pure joy.
So there were major dance moves that came out that night. However, “Bug”, as they call their sweet little girl, owned that dance floor! This is just a glimpse at the dancing. I could probably make a whole blog post of just the dancing at this wedding.
The Reception Events!
I think they may have cut one of the largest pieces of wedding cake I’ve ever seen in my career! Kolbie’s face says it all after getting the slice on the plate. Following the cake cutting was the traditional bouquet toss, and the reaction of the catch was pretty priceless.

Now we’ve come to the end of the night. The venue was cleared of everyone but Kolbie and Wyatt. They did one final dance (which I highly recommend) to end the day. This is a perfect time for your guests to get ready for the grand exit! They chose one of my favorite exits…
I love bubble exits because they are safe, and fun when there are kids involved! I actually noticed a few days after a wedding with a sparkler exit, that a strand of my hair was far shorter than the rest. It may not have been from getting too close to a sparkler while blindly walking backwards, but it’s oddly suspicious.
That being said, no matter what grand exit you choose, walk slow, take it all in, and celebrate with those who are there to cheer you on to your next journey in life!
