The details of this wedding were absolutely gorgeous! From the pearls on her shoes, to the star and crown details of her ring. From the arch by the lake to the plate settings on the table, everything was perfect! Kynnedie thought of everything! We held a phone call prior to the wedding day, and on our call, we were able to talk through timeline, location of the ceremony and how things were going to go while we were up there. There is no service in this canyon (yet), but we were able to all be on the same page with the day. If you plan to have a wedding somewhere with little to no service, please call your photographer, and talk through the details!

Daniel and some friends camped in the Tony Grove campground the night before. They set up for the wedding early the next day because it is a very beautiful and popular spot. We actually almost crashed a surprise proposal up there the same day, thinking it was another wedding.

Kynnedie and Daniel wanted to keep tradition. Daniel’s first time seeing her in her dress, was when she walked down the aisle. His reaction was priceless!

In addition to the small details, the big details were even better! Kynnedie’s dress was elegant and beautiful on her! The loose petal and flower details with the silhouette were stunning! And then mixed with her natural beauty…it’s no wonder Daniel dropped a tear or two! That and you can just feel the strong love that they have for each other when you’re near them.

After the emotion filled walk down the aisle, I honestly love how this ceremony played out! They went through their vows. They had their first kiss as husband and wife, and celebrated the union…then they realized they had forgotten something…

You guessed it, the RINGS! The realization on their faces says it all! It didn’t matter that it was a small, overlooked detail during the ceremony to them. They made a core memory, and I was so happy to have been able to capture this moment for them.

After the ceremony, they hugged family and walked to the other side of the lake to give them some time to breathe. We then started the photos of just the two of them.

Usually, I will wait until after the family and group photos to take the formals, but I knew these were important to them. The sun was going to set soon and I knew I would be able to get photos of their family later with flash if needed. However, formals with flash is near impossible to get if you want the scenery as the backdrop at Tony Grove.

And as you can see, I have a hard time choosing my favorite photos from their formals.

Tony Grove is an incredible background for a micro wedding or elopement. With the reservoir, the pine trees, and the mountain landscapes, you have plenty of options for backdrops.

After their formals, we headed back to the dinner and took photos of the groups and families. With Tony Grove, when you start to lose light, it goes fast.

After the light is gone, it is pitch black. Be sure your photographer knows how to use on and off camera flash to help get the best photos in low light situations! I have been working with flash for over 4 years, and that is why the only reason why these reception photos worked.

Their cake fit the vibes, and I love the matching cupcakes for the kids! They were incredibly kind and offered me a piece, and I must say, it was one of the tastiest cakes I have ever eaten!

After signing their marriage certificate they danced the rest of the night. It is always so fun to see the connections among the couple and the people that mean the most to them.

And just like that, the night was over! They did a sparkler exit in the parking lot, where the family and friends that were still there, celebrated their union and cheered them on into the future! We packed up and left. Throughout 2025, thy had open range on the whole road leading up to Tony Grove. There were numerous black angus cattle that were very close to or on the road. When traveling up or down the road, be sure to have good headlights so you don’t hit the cows or any deer.
